IDC is predicting that laptops with widescreen displays will outsell laptops with traditional displays next year. This is in line with many manufacturers pushing widescreen displays across their product lines (with Sony and Fujitsu being among the leaders.).
Hopefully this will trickle down to the ultraportables, as a widescreen display can help bring overall laptop sizes down, while still retaining useability (in the form of wider keyboards, but smaller overall laptop size).
