From MiniPCs.com, there is a story about OQO’s Model 01 Mini-PCs/Laptops being used to treat patients affected by Hurricane Katrina. OQO donated five of the small ultraportables, which were then used to help physicians treat patients:
The two physicians from the Palo Alto Medical Foundation also used the OQO devices and the makeshift Wi-Fi network to access clinical reference software from UpToDate, Wellesley, Mass., Lexi-Comp Inc., Hudson, Ohio, and other vendors that resides on their organization’s network. This further helped them treat patients, Choi says.
They seem very enthusiastic about the devices.
