Craig Pringle posted his review of the Toshiba Portege R400 convertible/ultraportable. The R400 has a 12.1-inch touchscreen display and is powered by an Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) Intel dual-core Core Duo CPU and weighs in at just under four pounds.
According to Craig, this is the “most slate like convertable I have ever handled. It is light and thin and this makes it very comfortable to use in slate mode. It is also the quietest Core Duo device I have yet seen”. He goes on to talk about the hinge design that does away with what many of us have experienced with ultraportables in this class – the tendency of the display to “flop” around at times, and feel looser than it should.
