Fujitsu Officially Offers Microsoft Windows Vista for the P1610

In more Fujitsu P1610 news, a jkOntheRun reader has pointed out that the P1610 is now officially offering Microsoft Windows Vista for customers in the United States. Microsoft Windows XP Pro, Windows XP Tablet Edition, or Vista Business Edition are being offered as the OS for the P1610, with no price difference between the three. Vista Business Edition includes Tablet PC functionality (there is no longer a seperate Tablet edition of the OS – with Vista it was folded into the regular lineup).

According to Core Duo News, Fujitsu will begin offering a 3G UMTS/HSDPA connectivity module for the
Fujitsu LifeBook P1610. This considerably broadens the connectivity capabilities of the P1610, one of the smallest ultraportable notebooks (which also doubles as a Tablet PC with its 8.9-inch widescreen touchscreen display), especially for those who travel a lot. This was announced on Fujitsu’s Asia/Pacific site – we are unsure if this will be offered outside of Asia.

Gigabyte U60 at CeBit This Month?

UnwiredView.com is carrying a story from the French site Clubic.com that Gigabyte will be releasing the U60 at the CeBit tradeshow in Germany later this month. It’s considered an UltraMobile PC, however we find it interesting as it has a physical, slide-out keyboard.
