Asus R1E: Approved by the FCC

Asus R1E Last week we mentioned that the Asus R1E had shown up on the FCC website (FCC.gov) and that it meant that the Asus R1E should be available soon (once the FCC certification and approval process was complete).

PCLaunches.com is reporting that the FCC has approved it.

That means that Asus’ latest “convertible Tablet PC/Laptop should be showing up for order soon on Asus’ Website (at least in North America/US – it does appear to be available elsewhere).

Quick specs on the Asus R1E:
– 13.3″ Widescreen / Touchscreen display
– Based on Intel’s Santa Rosa platform with an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU
– Weighs just under 4.5 pounds (with internal dual-layer DVD writer)
– Utilizes Intel’s GMA X3100 graphics chipset.
