Dell Adding 64GB Solid State Drives (SSD) Option

Dell XPS M1330
Dell will soon be offering a 64GB Solid State Drive (SSD) from Samsung, in its Dell XPS M1330 lineup. The SSD is based on a 2.5″ form factor and uses traditional 2.5″ Serial ATA SATA) connectors.

It currently offers a 32GB Solid State Drive for the XPS M1330, in addition to traditional mechanical harddrives. In our option, 32GB is not very useful for most users, especially if you are running Windows Vista.

The addition of a 64GB SSD option makes this a very viable option for the M1330, which is already very lightweight for a 13.3″ widescreen laptop (a starting weight of around 4 pounds). It’ll help bring the weight down, as well as increase the battery life.

It will carry a hefty price – the 32GB SSD option tacks on $450 to the price above the normal price, and it’s not unreasonable to think that the 64GB option will add several hundred dollars more.
