Asus 8G Eee PC - 3 to 6 Weeks

Looks like the 8G version of the popular Asus Eee PC will begin shipping in 3-6 weeks, at least according to the 8G Asus Eee PC page at Amazon.

While the MSRP is $599 (USD), Amazon will be carrying the black 8G Eee PC for $542.99.

The main difference over the other Asus Eee PCs is that the 8G version will start with 1GB of memory, and have 8GB of storage (Solid State Drive - SSD).

The 8G has been delayed recently, because of a shortage of batteries as well as flash memory supplies being “tight” (and possibly expensive).
