Asus Eee PC 900 Reviews – Windows XP

Asus Eee PC 900 Yesterday, a couple of sites posted reviews of the Windows XP versions of the Asus Eee PC 900 (we’ve posted a few links to reviews in the past week of the Linux version of the 9-inch Asus Eee PC – you can find them here).

VR-Zone went in and looked “under the hood” so to speak, and took their’s apart, as well as looking at the differences in Solid State Drive/Disk (SSD) controllers – the older netbooks/laptops in the 7-inch Eee PC 701 and 702 models used a Silicon Motion controller, and now Asus is using dual Phison controllers. Both reviews mention that the Eee PC 900 will have multi-touch touchpad capabilities in both Linux and Windows (there was some debate about the Windows side).

CNET UK focused more on the Windows aspects (since they had just completed a review of the Linux version that covered the hardware) and higher resolution display and the fact that it’s more “Windows friendly” than the smaller Eee PC.
