After finishing their review of the 8.9-inch Intel Atom-based Asus Eee PC 901 (3.5 out of 5, with the main problem being one of price, when compared to others in its class), LAPTOP Magazine contacted Asustek about pricing for the Eee PC 901.
They received not only the pricing for the Eee PC 901, but also the 10-inch Eee PC 1000 and 1000H. The prices for Eee PC 1000 / 1000H are “subject to change” , but the Eee PC 901 price is firm.
Pricing:
– Eee PC 901 – Windows XP (12 GB SSD) – $599
– Eee PC 901 – Linux (20GB SSD) – $599
– Eee PC 1000 – both Linux/Windows – $699
– Eee PC 1000H – Windows only – $649
The main difference between the 1000H and 1000 is that the 1000H is Windows only and offers an 80GB hard drive (the 1000 is probably going to have a 40GB Solid State Drive – SSD).
