Asus Eee PC 900 / 901, Batteries, and the UK

Asus Eee PC 900 EeeUser.com is reporting on an matter of concern to a lot of Eee PC 900 users in the UK – namely that there appears to be a delay in the battery replacement program.

Originally a lot of Asus Eee PC 900 customers in the UK were not happy with the 4400mAh batteries that shipped by default (they were expecting a higher capacity). This happened in Hong Kong as well.

Hong Kong customers were able to get free replacement batteries. UK customers… Asus worked out a deal whereby they could replace their 4400mAh batteries with 5800mAh batteries for £10 + VAT (and shipping/handling).

Apparently that’s been put on hold for now. Sounds like there is still a battery shortage.
