Looks like there is a new model of the 8.9-inch Intel Celeron-powered Asus Eee PC 900 that’s now available in some areas (at least in the US). The major difference is that it offers a 16GB Solid State Drive (SSD) for storage that has either Windows or Linux. You can find the updates at the official Eee PC 900 site.
It’s already available for pre-order at Excaliber PC for $399, so far only in Galaxy Black.
It’s also available for pre-order at Amazon for $399 as well.

This was not even announced, so the reasons for it – hard to say, could be sales of the 12GB versions were not what they wanted, or the 16GB option was cheap enough.
