Acer Aspire One - HD Version in the UK on the 18th (Amazon UK)

The 120GB hard drive version of the 8.9-inch Acer Aspire One has been available for pre-order in the United Kingdom for several weeks now. Just recently, Amazon.co.uk has started showing a release date of 18 August 2008 for the HDD models.

These are all 3-cell battery models unfortunately. There’s only two colors for now - Sapphire Blue and Seashell White, and you basically (on the HD models) get a choice of Operating System (Windows XP Home or Linpus Linux), and either 512MB or 1GB or RAM.

Some of these qualify for free shipping. Some of the prices are higher than elsewhere, but Amazon seems to be pretty firm on the release date.
