MSI Wind U90 (U90X) Reviewed (LAPTOP Mag)

MSI Wind U90 Yesterday, LAPTOP Magazine was one of the first (probably the first) to review the new 8.9″ Intel Atom-powered MSI Wind U90X (aka the U90). The U90X is the smaller version of the 10.2″ MSI Wind U100.

They were not impressed with either the SUSE Linux operating system that came installed or the battery life. This particular version of Linux had some issues with network / wireless drivers and staying connected (apparently something that’s known and documented). The U90X’s chassis is the same as the U100s (something that Asus and others also do – use the same chassis, just have a larger bezel around the screen to make up the different between 8.9″ and 10.2″). As a result, it does keep the U100’s keyboard, something that LAPTOP Magazine thought was a benefit.
