HP Dropping Mini 1000 Starting Price to $359.99

HP Mini 1000 On Friday, we received notice from HP that there would be a price drop starting today, on the HP Mini 1000 and now we can post it.

The starting price would be $359.99 (USD) for Model FV436AV (which is the Customize-To-Order build). At some point today, the HP Home and Home Office store’s website should reflect the price drop on the 8.9″ Intel-Atom powered HP Mini 1000 Notebook (FV436AV).

To upgrade to a 10.2″ display will cost $50 more, which would put it at $419.99 (USD). As of the time of this posting, a free memory upgrade to 1GB is included (that maybe subject to change).

Base Specifications:
– Intel Atom 1.6GHz
– 8.9″ 1024×600 LED-Backlit
– 1GB RAM (Free Upgrade)
– 8 GB Solid State Drive (SSD)
– Windows XP Home w/SP3
– Webcam
– HP Swirl Imprint Finish
– 3 Cell Lithium Polymer Battery

The comparable model would be the HP Mini 1110NR.

Whether this extends to elsewhere outside of the US, and whether it affects other models in the HP Mini 1000 series as well as non-CTO models is unknown.

Amazon is currently showing a HP Mini 1010NR starting at $369.99. I’m unsure as to whether that is just a typical Amazon discount that pops up every now and then, or if that’s going to be their base price for that model.
