Rumors of Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet PC/ThinkPad X61 True?

Update: May, 2007 – If you are looking for information about a ThinkPad X61, look here – information about the X61 is starting to come out.

I’ve went ahead and started putting together a page about the rumored replacement for a Core Duo-powered ThinkPad X41 Tablet PC, the ThinkPad X60 Tablet PC from Lenovo, now that more information is coming out. There may now be a ThinkPad X61 on the horizon as well, although I’ll hold off on that. Loosely Coupled did the conversion and it came out to around $2600 USD for the X60 Tablet PC.

You can see the entry here at the French retailer that Core Duo News found the original listing on. They mention an April 6th date for sales.

Specifications are probably based on the ThinkPad X60, with Core Duo News reporting the following:

Intel Core Duo Processor T2400 (1.83GHz, 2MB L2, 667MHz FSB)
Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC OS
1GB of memory
12.1″ XGA Display (1024×768)
Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950
100GB HDD
Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG (802.11a/b/g)
up to 7.5 hours battery time

It would make a lot of sense to have this – the ThinkPad X41 Tablet PC garnered a lot of praise, and is helping to make Tablet PCs more mainstream. The Toshiba Portege M400 Tablet PC would be the only Core Duo-powered competition that such an ultraportable Tablet PC/Notebook from Lenovo would have.
