Articles and Reviews

Press Release – eMediaWire.com – July 25, 2007 – “Toshiba Ships World’s First UWB Wireless Port Replicator”

TabletPc2.com – Review – June 2007

User Review at GottaBeMobile.com – March 2007 – There has been unnecessary and sadly unfounded bashing of the device by people that have not really used one. A good example of this is : The R400 is too slow. I can tell you that it is not. I find it very snappy and plenty fast. The processor is definitely not outmatched by Vista. The implementation of Vista Business in the R400 is very well done.

BusinessWeek.com – March 2007 – 3 out of 5 stars – So why not a higher rating? The R400-S4931 will set you back $3,499. For that, I expected more under the hood than a 1.2-GHz Core Duo Processor and an 80-GB hard drive, especially when competitors are selling tablet PCs with similar specifications for a fraction of the price.

Craig Pringle – February 2007 – Over all this is a really nice convertable. While I think that some of the criticisms that have been made are valid (the lack of an SD card slot in particular) the R400 looks great and has a nice feel to it. Performance is snappy and it rates a respectable 3.1 on the Vista Perfromance Rating.

CNET – Jan 2007 – 6.4 out of 10 – If money is no object for you, the Toshiba Portege R400 is an eye-catching, Windows Vista conversation piece, but the rest of us will want more performance from a system this expensive..
