Sony VAIO TX Series – Carbon Fiber

MobileMag.com is running a story about how Sony has made some of their latest and greatest TX series ultraportable laptops lighter and stronger – through the use of Carbon Fiber:

this carbon fiber technology is usually being used when manufacturing airplanes or racing cars. Comparing with other existing T series notebooks, these VAIOs become twice as strong in endurance and the weight, only in 1.24-1.26kg, 30%lighter than before.

They discuss the AV mode as well (powering on the laptop for A/V uses such as music or movies, without actually booting into Windows). The two laptops mentioned are the VGN-TX17LP/B and VGN-TX16LP/W 2 (These are Korean models).
