Students Using Lenovo ThinkPad X41 Tablet PCs in the Classroom

NBC 17 (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill NC) has a story about local students using the Lenovo ThinkPad X41 Tablet PC in the classroom. An “anonymous” person donated the money for 95 ThinkPad X41 Tablet PCs to St. Mary’s School in Raleigh, North Carolina, and by 2007, all students will hopefully be similarly equipped. The X41 Tablet PC is the first Thinkpad tablet, and is a “convertible” – having both a 12-inch touchscreen display as well as a conventional keyboard. Lenovo ThinkPad X41 Tablet PC

One student commented: “If I have my notebook open, I don’t have to go in my bag and take out another highlighter. I can just easily highlight in whatever color I want,” Tawanah Reeves said of using her tablet PC. “If I want to erase something, with a highlighter you cannot erase, with this, it’s easy as that.”
