Panasonic has announced the Toughbook T4 and Toughbook W4. These are semi-rugged laptops with a 12.1-inch display, utlizing Intel’s Pentium M Ultra Low Voltage CPUs (ULV) clocking in at 1.2GHz. This allows the W4 (similar to the T4, except it has an optical drive) to reach around 6 hours of battery time, while the T4 (which apparently has an expanded battery in place of the optical drive) can reach 9.5 hours of useage while running on battery.
Expected cost is around $2150. Among the features – physical on-off switches for the wireless networking, and shock-mounted harddrives. They weigh in at around 3lbs.
