Announced: Sony VAIO VGN-SZ90

Sony VGN SZ90
Sony (Japan) has announced a new ultraportable, the Sony VAIO VGN-SZ90, based on Intel’s new Duo Core CPU platform (1.66GHz – 2.16GHz). The VGN-SZ90 has a 13.3-inch widescreen display. It also features hard disk shock protection, and a carbon fiber chassis (more on that in a moment). This model is only available for the Japanese market at this time, and should be available immediately.

MobileWhack.com reports that there is a new feature concerning the graphics chipset/battery:

For graphics you have nVidia’s GeForce Go 7400 with a twist – there’s a SPEED/STAMINA switch which you can set to get the performance you desire. With the switch set to SPEED you experience full graphics power in your 3D games and other video-intensive applications. Set the switch to STAMINA and you squeeze the max out of your battery.

Note: We are going to start carrying information on the 13-inch WXGA/widescreen laptops that have Carbon Fiber (or some other weight-reducing means) as some of these are smaller than their XGA 12-inch counterparts in both depth and weight.
