Update: HP Compaq 2710p

HP Compaq 2710p HP began releasing details about their new notebooks at the HP Mobility Summit 2007. Among the notebooks, the one that was leaked a few days ago, the HP Compaq 2710p, a “convertible” Tablet PC.

We now know it’s based on Intel’s Santa Rosa platform, has a 12.1-inch widescreen touchscreen display, weighs in at just over 3.5 pounds, is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) CPU.

One interesting thing: It’s mentioned that the display uses “Illumi-Lite” to allow for a slimmer, much more energy efficient (up to 90 minutes additional battery life) display than traditional LCDs. Could this be one of the first notebooks rolled out using LEDs?

It will start at $1699 and will be available sometime in the summer of 2007
