Announced: Toshiba Dynabook SS RX1 Note PC

Toshia Dynabook SS RX1 Note PcToshiba has announced the Toshiba Dynabook SS RX1 Note PC, an ultraportable laptop slated for the Japanese market (for now). It utilizes an Intel Core 2 Duo Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) U7500 (1.06GHz), can hold upto 2GB of memory, and includes an internal optical drive (dual-layer DVD writer).

It’s one of the smallest and lightest laptops with a 12.1-inch widescreen display – with a width of just over 11 inches, a depth of 8.5 inches, and depending on options – a height of .75 – 1 inch and a weight of 1.9 – 2.1 pounds. One of those options is a 64GB Solid State Drive (SSD). SSDs are flash-based, which helps increase the battery life, reduce the weight, and protect your data should the unthinkable happen, and you drop or bump your laptop into something. With the SSD, Toshiba claims you can achieve a battery life of over 12 hours.
