Announced: Dell XPS M1330

Dell XPS M1330Dell has indirectly, yet officially, announced the Dell XPS M1330, through a post on the company Blog (Direct2Dell.com) by Lionel Menchaca:

We normally wouldn’t have said this in the past, but we have some very cool PCs being introduced later this month. Stay tuned and you’ll see what we mean. Matter of fact, I’ve seen some pictures here and here.

The blog entry links to an entry at Engadget. The XPS M1330 has a 13.3 widescreen display and is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo, running on the Santa Rosa platform. You’ll have the choice of either the integrated Intel graphics chipset, or an NVIDIA 8400m Go chipset. Total weight should be around four pounds, which is not too bad for a machine with a 13.3-inch display. Engadget claims that the display will be an LED-backlit display, which among other things, will help with battery life, and that a Solid-State Drive (SSD) will be optional – 32GB initially.
