Review: Toshiba Satellite U305 (NotebookReview.com)

Toshiba Satellite U300 NotebookReview.com has posted a re view of Toshiba’s Satellite U305, the successor to the U200 / U205 series, and the Intel Santa Rosa version of the Satellite U300.

The U305 just recently become available. It’s powered by Intel Core 2 Duo CPUs, has a 13.3″ widescreen display and weighs just over 4.5 pounds (with internal optical drive). It certainly pushes the limit of what one calls an ultraportable, but once you’ve seen it, you’ll understand how small it is, compared to some of the recent “ultraportables” (notably the non-widescreen 12″ versions).

The model they reviewed is the U305-S5127, with an Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 (1.8GHz, 2MB L2 Cache), Windows Vista Home Premium, 2GB of memory and a 200GB Serial ATA (SATA) hard drive. Given that it’s using a full-blown Intel Core 2 Duo CPU and not an Ultra Low Voltage or Low Voltage CPU, with a 13.3″ display, they were able to get over 5.5 hours of battery life (using the extended battery) which is very good for laptops in this class.
