Asus Lowers 1Q 2008 Eee PC Estimates

Asus Eee PC Digitimes is reporting that Asus will have to lower first quarter shipping estimates for its popular Asus Eee PC line.

Originally they were on track to ship one million Eee PCs, but are now saying that it will be closer to 700,000 units. They do have orders for over a one million units, but are having to delay the 8GB version of the Eee PCs due to problems with the flash-based storage. The 8GB versions were pushed out to the second quarter of 2008.

The Eee PCs are turning out to be very popular ultraportables (and very affordable).
