Review: Asus Eee PC 4G Surf (LAPTOP Magazine)

Asus Eee PC LAPTOP Magazine has published their review of the Asus Eee PC. To be specific, it’s the Asus Eee PC 4G Surf, one of the low-end versions of the Eee PC, which comes with the standard 7″ widescreen display, 512MB of memory (may or may not be user-upgradable), 4GB of storage, and is missing the webcam and carrying case that come with the higher-end versions. They awarded it 3.5 out of 5 stars, saying

…the Asus Eee PC 4G Surf is a marvelous device that would make a good secondary machine for those times when you don’t want to deal with the bulk of a full-size notebook, or when you just want to hop online in a pinch without having to wait for Windows to load.

They are also running a series about giving up a regular laptop for the eee PC: Day One and Day Three. This little series will give you a good feel for the size and what, if anything you might be missing (although outside of the small keyboard/trackpad, much of it is easily fixed).
