We were sent some information concerning the Lenovo IdeaPad U110, namely that it will be available for order tomorrow, April 29, 2008, starting at $1899 (previously it looked like it would start at $1999). Based on the email and what we’ve seen at a few other sites, this looks to be accurate, especially given that the U110 was popping up on a retail website a few weeks ago.
We were also sent a link to a promotional video put together by Lenovo that is on YouTube (not sure who posted it on YouTube). You can see the U110 in both colors (black and red) as well as some of the intricate detail. There’s also a good shot of the external USB-powered optical drive (and you get a sense of just how small the U110 is!)
The U110 will join the ThinkPad X300 as Lenovo’s mainstream ultraportable offerings (at least in North America and Europe). It weighs around three pounds, has an 11.1-inch widescreen display, and is powered by a Low Voltage (LV) Intel Core 2 Duo L7500 (1.6GHz, 4MB L2 cache).
