Joanna Stern over at LAPTOP Magazine has acquired the latest netbook from Asus, their 8.9-inch Intel Atom-powered Eee PC 901.
She’s posted several photos of the packaging and of the Eee PC 901 itself, as well as her first impressions. As she noted, it has a slightly bigger footprint than the Eee PC 900 (powered by an Intel Celeron instead of an Atom), and this model was running Windows XP.
It’s actually an interesting read about how she acquired it as well – she and a few fellow tech journalists ventured into Taipei’s computer market, in the Kauanghua Plaza area, and it took them 10 tries before she was able to find somebody that had one in stock.
