Looks like it’s not just reported sources or leaked photos – if What Laptop is right, the Eee PC 904 HD will soon be available (as in mid-July). They are reporting this is due, in part, to the Eee PC 904 being powered by an Intel Celeron rather than an Intel Atom (which the Eee PC 901 uses).
The 8.9-inch Eee PC 904 HD will be based on the same chassis and keyboard as the 10.1-inch Eee PC 1000 / 1000H. It will have a conventional 80GB HDD (hence the “HD” in the name), 1GB of memory, and Windows XP.
A price of £269 (including VAT) is mentioned, which is around $533 US. Asustek is expected to drop the price of the Eee PC 901 down to £299 (including VAT) which is $592 US (in keeping with the newer processor costing more).
