Viliv S7: Announced

Viliv S7 UMPC Portal has posted some photos and videos of a brand new little netbook / ultraportable that was demonstrated at the Fall 2008 Intel Developer Forum. It’s the 7″ Viliv S7. It’s a convertible with a touchscreen – the 1024×600 display rotates / swivels around to convert from a normal laptop form factor to a Tablet PC form factor. It’s powered by an Intel Atom SLT 1.3GHz, 1.6GHz, or a 1.8GHz.

It’s similar in size to the 7″ convertible Kohjinsha SR Series and similar in form factor to the 8.9″ Gigabyte M912 .

Features:
– Optional HSDPA, 3G, GPS (SiRF), WiMax (Wibro)
– Internal DMB TV Functions
– H.264 1080i (Vista) and 720p support

Dimensions:
Width: 8.98 inches / 228 mm
Depth: 5.7 inches / 145 mm
Height: 0.98 inches / 25 mm
Weight: 1.83 pounds / 0.83 kg

I’m a little surprised by the claims of 9 hours of movie playback as well as the H.264/1080i support. I am curious to see the benchmarks when they become available.
