Well, it’s official – Samsung’s 10″ Intel Atom-powered netbook has now been dubbed the Samsung NC10.
It’s got a few interesting features not found elsewhere – some kind of special coating on the keys to reduce the chances of bacteria growing on them, and the case/chassis has been designed to be more durable than a lot of others in its class.
It will come in three different colors – black, white, and “metallic blue”, and start at £329 ($594 USD), and should be available in October in Europe (UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Russia), Asia (China, Hong Kong, and Korea), and according to Network World, in the United States in November (which is interesting in and of itself – I didn’t expect Samsung to enter the US netbook market).
– 10.2″ 1024×600 LED-lit display
– 1.6GHz Intel Atom.
– 80GB or 160GB HDD
– Optional Bluetooth
– Windows XP Home only
– 6-Cell battery (8 hours)
– Weight: @ 2.9 lbs (1.3kg)
