Akihabara News has word of a new 12.1″ LED-backlit ultraportable laptop from Toshiba, the Toshiba Dynabook NX. Poking around the web, we found the official press release, and some of the stats are very impressive.
The Dynabook NX follows on the heels of the 12.1″ Toshiba Dynabook SS RX1 and is powered by an Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) 1.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU9300.
You can have either a 128GB Solid State Drive, or a 160GB SATA drive, and it does come with an internal dual-layer DVD writer. Toshiba lists a maximum battery life of 11.5 hours for the SSD version and 10.5 hours for the HDD version, so obviously there are some battery options avaialble.
It’s due out in late October, but we are unsure of the availability outside of Japan, or formal price, but Akihabara believes it will retail for €1200 for the HDD version and €1930 for the SSD version, which is $1715 – $2775 USD. There will be three color choices – black, white, and pink.
