James Kendrick of jkOnTheRun came across an Asus Eee PC 900XP (EEPC900XP – basically a Windows XP Home version of the Eee PC 900) in a Best Buy here in the US.
It was retailing for $449.99 USD. Keep in mind that this is a Intel Celeron-based netbook.

– Intel Celeron M
– 16GB Solid State Drive (SSD)
– 8.9″ Display
It was the only netbook on display. It seems like they are on- again / off-again these days – Acer appears to be in the process of refreshing their Aspire Ones, so that’s understandable (that they aren’t available in retail stores), but even the 7″ Eee PCs have shown up at some of the larger super markets.
Maybe the big-box retailers still don’t know how to market these?
