Last week, MSI’s Director of U.S. Sales revealed that MSI has been shipping 150,000 – 200,000 MSI Wind U100s a month (not counting rebadged Winds), with the Intel Atom CPU shortage (as well as 6-cell batteries) having an impact on sales. Keep in mind that the Winds are all Atom-based.
This morning, DigiTimes revealed that Asustek was able to hit sales of 700,000 Eee PCs in one month, in September. This is a new monthly high for the Asus Eee PC series, which does include both Intel Atom-powered netbooks, as well as Celeron-based netbooks such as the Asus Eee PC 900.
In the third quarter of 2008, they shipped around 1.7 million Eee PCs, according to Commercial Times (a Chinese-language publication).
