The Lenovo IdeaPad S10 netbook is barely even out (people just started receiving their S10s in the past few weeks) and already it appears that Lenovo is tweaking some things.
First off, they’ve dropped the price by $40 down to $399 at the US online store (except for the red model). $399 now gets you:
– 1.6Ghz Intel Atom CPU
– 512MB RAM
– Windows XP Home
– 80GB HDD
– 3-cell battery
US Models:
– Lenovo IdeaPad S10 – 42312BU (Black) – $399.99 (3-4 weeks)
– Lenovo IdeaPad S10 – 42312CU (White) – $399.99 (3-5 days)
– Lenovo IdeaPad S10 – 42312DU (Red) – $439.99 (3-5 days)
It might be that they are clearing these out and keeping lower specifications for models they are selling through CompUSA and Circuit City and the higher-end models for sale through Lenovo’s online store.
The reason being that, James Kendrick mentioned that the review S10 that he received from Lenovo was different from what you can purchase. He spoke with Lenovo, and Lenovo confirmed that new models would be available soon (for a higher price, but better specifications).
Updated Specifications:
– Same 1.6GHz Atom from Intel
– 1GB of RAM (new, twice the old size)
– 160GB HDD (new, twice the old size)
– Still have a 3-cell battery
– Price: $469
He also found out that Lenovo will be offering a 6-cell battery in the near future.
