The 13.3″ Lenovo ThinkPad SL300, along with the Lenovo ThinkPad X301 have new models in their lineup (or will I should say) that are WiMax-enabled (4G). They are meant for use on Sprint’s high-speed XOHM network (launched earlier this week in Baltimore). The ThinkPad T400 and SL500 also have new WiMAX versions, and later on this year the ThinkPad X200, along with the W500, W700, SL400, along with the IdeaPad Y530 will also have WiMAX-enabled models. Lenovo will also be offering notebooks with 3G options (GSM, HSDPA, and CDMA/EV-DO Rev. A).
Toshiba has also announced 4G / WiMAX models of their popular Satellite U405 lineup. In fact, they’ve named a specific model, the U405-ST550W.
Both the Lenovo and Toshiba laptops will be using Intel’s WiMAX/WiFi Link 5050 hardware (aka “Echo Peak”, part of the Centrino 2 platform).
