MSI Wind U100 – $50 MSI Rebates

Back in August, I mentioned that netbook prices would have to drop. Acer (and even Lenovo) were pushing 8.9″ and 10″ machines out at a cheaper rate than Asustek and MSI. Asus Eee PCs did see a price drop. At some point last week, MSI began offering $50 rebates on certain models of the 10.2″ MSI Wind U100 netbook in the United States. It looks like it’s available through almost all online resellers / retailers of the Wind U100.

The rebates run from October 1, 2008 through October 31, 2008, and they are for the 3-cell battery versions of the U100 and cover three models (listed below). They drop the price for these models from $479.99 down to $429.99 (most of them at least – some models only drop to $449.99, one or two drop to $419.99).

Specifications: 120GB HDD, 1GB RAM (U100-219US may have 2GB RAM), 3-Cell Battery, Windows XP Home
