It turns out that the report of the 7″ and 8.9″ Eee PCs from Asustek were not going to be phased out – there was a misunderstanding (perhaps lost in translation).
ZDNet UK has been directly told by a spokesperson from Asus that 7-inch and 8.9-inch Eee PC netbooks will not be phased out.
It makes sense, given that Asustek was talking about a $200 Eee PC sometime in 2009.
