Looks like when Sony said “We have to participate—, they weren’t kidding, and already had a netbook in the works.
There has been a recent FCC filing for Sony in the US, with a couple of models listed, as well a size and some specifications, listed for what looks to be Sony’s entry into the netbook market. Engadget estimates the size to be around 9.5″ x 4.5″ which really pushes an 8.9″ display (the dimensions seem off for an 8.9″ display, a 7-inch display would be more appropriate).
Some of these deals are limited in numbers, and some may not be active until 2am PST. I’ll update this if more deals become available (and if you see any, use the comment form and I’ll add them).
