Being that it’s the first of the month, I bring you the Top 10 (11 technically) Ultraportable/Small Laptops of February 2006, based on reader interest. This list is in order.
James Martin has put together the results of a readers’ survey for PC World, Your Favorite Notebooks, along with excerpted readers’ comments. They are looking for more readers’ comments/nominations. Out of the small sample this time around, two ultraportables made up half of the field, the Apple iBook, and the Dell Inspiron 700M . The only drawback mentioned for either, one reader commented about the 700M’s keyboard would be a bit small for a “large-fingered” person.
It is mentioned that the 710M is shipping.
CNET Asia has published a list of their Top 10 Notebooks of January 2006. Interestingly enough, five out of the top 10 were ultraportables – they had 12-inch displays or smaller. The list was based on readership, similar to our Top 5 Ultraportables of January 2006 list.
The five mentioned:
Fujitsu LifeBook P7120
Sony VAIO VGN-TX17GP aka the TX670P
Dell Inspiron 710M
Compaq Presario B1800
Acer TravelMate 3000 Series
