Announced: Fujitsu LifeBook T FVM-T8140

Fujitsu LifeBook T FVM T8140Fujitsu has announced the Fujitsu LifeBook T FVM-T8140, their latest “convertible” – which converts from a laptop to a Tablet PC through the rotation of the 12.1-inch widescreen (1280×800) LCD display. It’s 1.3-inches high and weighs just under 3.5 pounds (while retaining an internal optical drive and two memory slots, for up to 4GB of DDR2 Memory).

This is the sequel to the Fujitsu LifeBook T4220, and is based on Intel’s Santa Rosa platform. It has an Intel Core 2 Duo U7500 CPU (1.06Ghz, 533MHz Bus, 2MB L2) and does utilize Intel’s X3100 graphics chipset.

One interesting thing to note: It comes in two models:
– FMVNT5H14 (Windows Vista)
– FMVNT5H1T (Windows XP Tablet PC Edition)

What’s interesting is that the Windows XP Tablet PC Edition has a battery life of 7.5 hours (standard) to 11.3 hours (extended battery) while the Windows Vista version gets 6.8 and 10.2 respectively.
