Mini-Review: Fujitsu U1010 (GottaBeMobile)

Fujitsu FMV-U8240 UMPC Hugo Ortega over at GottaBeMobile.com has received a Fujitsu U1010 (aka the FMV-U8240) and has posted his first impressions.

The Fujitsu U1010 is basically a UMPC built on Intel’s Ultra Mobile Platform 2007 (using an 800MHz A110 CPU), with a 5.6″ LED-backlit display with a resolution of 1024×600. It has up to 1GB of memory and weighs just 1.3 pounds. With the extended battery, Fujitsu claims it can get up to 8 hours of battery life (4 with the normal battery).

The U1010 utilizes a “convertible” form factor – with a screen that swivels to allow you to convert back and forth between a Tablet PC and a laptop-type setup (albeit a lot smaller than most). The size really caught him off guard: “I couldn’t help but pause and laugh to myself – I could not believe that was a PC! It was almost as though I was looking at a Google Map aerial shot of a laptop
