Acer Aspire One First Impression (VR-Zone)

Acer Aspire One VR-Zone has posted their first impressions, along with several photos, of a pre-productin Acer Aspire One, which is Acer’s 8.9-inch entry into the netbook market.

They noted that internally, the Aspire One preview unit they had is referred to as “ZG5”, that it an 8GB Solid State Drive (SSD), and that it was running a 6-cell 4400mAh Samsung battery or 3-cell 2200mAh battery, with an 802.11b/g wireless chipset. It had 512MB memory (there was another internal expansion slot available, a dedicated SDHC slot (up to 32GB of additional flash-based memory).

The preview model also had an optional WiMAX module, as well as a slot for a 3G SIM card.

They are still looking at a July release (for the US) starting at $399, with a 10-inch model coming later on.
