The 7-inch Eee PC 701SD, the sequel to the 7-inch Asus Eee PC 700 series, is starting to take shape.
EeePCNews.de has now produced a large number of photos of both the black and white Eee PC 701SD models. As LAPTOP Magazine points out, it’s built in a similar chassis to the 8.9″ Asus Eee PC 901 series, and has been updated from the 700 series.
A recent Asus Eee PC roadmap was leaked, showing the following 701SD models:
- 701
- 701SD
- 701SD (30G HDD),
- 701SD-4G
It will be interesting to see what the 701SD with a 30GB HDD is capable of doing – it could be that they are using a 1.8″ harddrive, however since it’s built on an 8.9″ chassis, they might be able to do what Acer is doing with the Acer Aspire One, and fit a regular SATA 2.5″ HDD in there.
