Announced: AJP M520A

PC Pro has news of a new ultraportable from AJP Computers PLC, the AJP M520A, built on Intel’s new Centrino platform. This laptop is for the U.K/European market, should retail for around £997.58 (with VAT), has a widescreen 12.1-inch display, uses DDR2 memory, and has a Magnesium alloy case.

Intel Core Duo-Powered Ultraportables

I’ve added a small page that lists the Intel Core Duo-powered ultraportables here. Right now, the only “officially” announced ultraportables are from ASUS, Lenovo, and Toshiba. More Core Duo laptops should start showing up very soon, as some companies are simply taking existing laptops and swapping out the systemboards.

Announced: MoGo Mouse

Newton Peripherals has announced a new mouse that maybe of interest to ultraportable users – the MoGo Mouse. It is wireless (using Bluetooth), and when not in use or when charging, it slips into your PC Card slot – yes it uses the PC Card slot to charge itself. It has a stand on the bottom that flips out and gives the back of the mouse a little elevation.

Announced: ASUS W5F

nother Intel Core Duo CPU powered laptop has been released, the ASUS W5F. According to an Anandtech article a few days ago, the W5F is virtually identical to the W5A with the exception of the chipset/CPU.
