Through PC Magazine’s Gearlog site, some more details have emerged about the Asus R1E (we came across some information about a prototype of the Asus R1E a few days ago on a Chinese website (PCPop.com)). This confirmed that it would be available soon and has left the prototype stage.
The Asus R1E is the Intel Santa Rosa version of the Asus R1F “convertible” laptop.
Asus R1E Specifications:
– “Convertible” – converts between between Tablet PC and Laptop
– 13.3″ widescreen touchscreen LCD (1280×800)
– Intel Core 2 Duo T7100, T7500 (probably T7300 as well)
– Up to 2GB Memory
– Intel 965 Express chipset
– Intel GMA X3100 graphics chipset
– 5400rpm Serial ATA (SATA) Hard Drives
– Approximately 4.4 pounds
