Brad Linder at Liliputing has posted a review of the 10.1″ Intel Atom-powered HP Mini 1000, complete with photos of a Mini 1000 next to an Asus Eee PC 1000H. The 1000H is quite a bit larger than the Mini 1000. The size is actually close to the Asus Eee PC S101, but the price isn’t.
They were impressed with the speaker design (built into the hinges and pointing towards you instead of up or down). They also felt it had one of the best keyboards around, even with it’s smaller size. The keys go almost all the way from edge-to-edge. The Mini 1000 suffers from lack of a 6-cell battery offering right now (although HP is going to rolling those out in the future), and it has some issues with expandability (namely storage).
