The 10.1-inch dual-core Intel Atom N550 powered Gigabyte T1005M has shown up on an Australian computer retailer’s site. It’s carrying a price of $905 (Australian) which is pretty pricey doing the currency conversion – around $800 US.
What makes the GA-T1005M unique is that it’s probably one of the first, if not the first touchscreen convertible netbooks available that is powered by Intel’s new dual-core N550 Atom processors.
Besides the capacitive touchscreen convertible display that allows it to be converted back and forth between a Tablet PC form and a conventional laptop/netbook, and the N550, it’s using DDR3 RAM, and it comes with a USB 3.0 port. It’s controlled by Intel’s NM10 Express chipset and the display is powered by Intel’s GMA3150 graphics chipset (built into the CPU).
