Toshiba Portege M750, R600, A600 Announced

Toshiba Portege M750 Toshiba Canada has announced several new ultraportable Portege models, all with 12.1″ LED-backlit displays, including a “convertible” Tablet PC / laptop. All are loaded with Microsoft Windows Vista and are based on Intel’s Centrino 2 platform, with Intel GMA X4500 graphics. While the R600 and M750 are replacing existing 12.1″ laptops, the A600 is the first of its kind in Toshiba’s lineup with a 12.1″ display. The A600 is kind of a budget laptop compared to the other two (with a starting price of around $1320 USD) – while the R600 may share some of the same components, it is lighter and overall smaller than the A600. All three have spill-resistant keyboards

Lenovo ThinkPad X200T Availability

Lenovo ThinkPad X200 Tablet The new 12″ convertible widescreen Lenovo ThinkPad X200T Tablet has started showing up in the Lenovo store for US customers as the model 7448 (alongside the older X61 Tablet). This is the first major redesign of the ThinkPad Tablet series (the transition to widescreen).

It starts with a 1 year depot warranty, and there are additional warranty options available. The 8-cell battery will set you back an additional $50, however given that it doubles the battery life, it’d be well worth it. As far as the MultiTouch + MultiView display – that’s an additional $275 – that pushes the price up quite a bit, but fans of MultiTouch will want it.

It’s available at:
Shop.Lenovo.com – ThinkPad X Series Tablet.

The models available ship in 1-2 weeks, and the starting price is lower than what had initially been announced – $1,844.00

Specifications for the base model:
– Intel Core 2 Duo SU9300 (1.2GHz, 3 MB L2)
– 800 MHz FSB
– Standard WideView WXGA Display
– Windows Vista Business 32-bit
– 1GB DDR3 RAM (1 DIMM)
– 5400rpm 80GB HDD
– ThinkPad 11b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Express Adapter III
