Would you like a Dell 710M or perhaps a 12-inch iBook or 12-inch PowerBook in different colors? Last month, Colorware started offering their services for Dell’s 710M 12-inch ultraportable notebooks. You can get different high-gloss colored coatings for your notebook case (including the recently added color “Cotton Candy Pink” ???) from Colorware, as well as customized corporate logos/photos.
According to Forbes, Austek has been contracted to build 1.2 million Intel-powered iBooks with 13.3 widescreen displays (the displays are from AU Optronics Corp, Chi Mei Optoelectronics Corp, and LG Philips LCD). No word on if it’s Core Solo or Core Duo. These have been rumored for quite a long time, and this is the first solid evidence we have of them.
They are expected to ship to customers in June. It’s safe to assume that they will have the same dual-boot capability (Windows and Mac OS X) that current Intel-based Macs have.

ThinkSecret.com is reporting that Apple may introduce Intel-based iBooks in January, including a third iBook in the iBook lineup. They mention that it may even be substantially cheaper than the 12.1″ iBook G4.
LAPTOP Magazine published a new review of the Apple 12-inch iBook G4 this morning. The current 12″ iBook G4 is powered by a 1.33GHz G4, has a 12.1-inch TFT LCD with a resolution of 1024×768, and a slot-load CD-RW/DVD-ROM (to get a DVD burner you have to move up to the 14-inch iBook or over to the 12-inch PowerBook).
